A few months back I got a sneaky little message from Nathan saying that he was planning to pop the question and that he would love to have me there to capture the moment. We did had a think about locations and decided on the Auckland Domain Winter Gardens. June 1st came around and I drove over to Nathan’s to pick up a huge bunch of red roses for Shelby. All his family and friends were busy decorating the whole house with fairy lights, flowers and amazing food, it looked gorgeous! I had been watching Nathan and Shelby’s location on maps and drove into the Domain grounds, it seems the app had taken a wee while to refresh and it turned out Nathan and Shelby were right behind me - as I stood there in a pink raincoat holding two huge cameras and the biggest bunch of red roses!! It could not have been more obvious! Nathan quickly diverted their walk and I dashed into the gardens to hide.
I hid between some trees as Nathan dropped to one knee and proposed. Shelby was absolutely over the moon and of course said yes. There were hugs, tears, laughter and kisses. I’d never witnessed a proposal before and it was so cute and the most beautiful and emotional moment! These two are such a wonderful couple, both so incredibly kind and so so in love.
